Our History
Len Aldridge started his business in Nebraska in 1932, bringing power into peoples’ homes, barns, and businesses. His reputation for fast, dependable service grew and his commitment to his customers soon set him apart as the best electrical contractor around.
In 1952, Len moved the business to Illinois, incorporated it in 1957 and by 1968, had acquired a new, larger facility in Libertyville. Over time, Aldridge built a stable backlog of highway work and expanded into the commercial, industrial, and airport markets. As the company grew, Len’s sons, Warren and Ken Aldridge, joined the company and took on larger, more challenging projects in the markets of mass transit, heavy infrastructure, utility, and drilling. Len Aldridge ran the company himself until 1979, when Ken and his brother Warren took the reins of the family-owned business.
Under Ken’s leadership, Aldridge became known for the ability to consistently win and complete challenging construction projects. Many of these projects resulted in lasting relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors that are still alive and well today.
Today, Aldridge is one of the leading electrical contractors in the nation actively pursuing large, demanding projects in the energy and transportation infrastructure markets. Ken’s sons, Steve and Alex, have served the company in several different roles before transitioning into their current positions as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer, respectively. As third-generation family-leaders, they drive the principles embraced in the mission, vision, and strategy for the company and will lead Aldridge into the future.
