SMALL, DISADVANTAGED, AND DIVERSE BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PROGRAM
Aldridge is committed to DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/VBE programs. More than just making an effort to meet the participation goals for design, professional services, supply, and construction, we aim to exceed them. This leadership led dedication starts from the top, including Ownership, the Executive Team, and extends all the way through the organization to be a diverse, inclusive company. Our DBE Coordinator is proactive in engaging the entire Disadvantaged Business Enterprise contractor community and works hard to:
Help DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE and VBE businesses improve and attain self-sufficiency
Provide a race-neutral and unbiased means of soliciting subcontractors and suppliers
Drive an outreach and Workforce Utilization Program
Develop and distribute lists of viable DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE and VBE companies
Make good faith efforts to involve DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/VBEs in our projects
Cascade DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE and VBE goals and requirements to our subcontractors
Monitor all of our DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE and VBE programs and maintain compliance
MENTORING
Aldridge is proud to mentor numerous diverse business partners. This program enhances the capabilities of disadvantaged and small business owners, fosters long-term business relationships, and increases subcontracting opportunities. Mentorship extends far beyond a single project, it is a long term and transparent relationship committed to mutual success. Mentorship extends beyond compliance, it is good business. Our proven mentorship process reaches beyond the onsite operations. We provide guidance in all aspects of business, including sharing the best practices of our Safety and Quality program and inclusion in training opportunities.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
Aldridge policy promotes equal employment opportunities. This means that Aldridge will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment
Recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability status, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, veteran status or marital status or any other characteristic protected by law.
ComEd honored Aldridge as one of their high-quality contractors at a Supplier Diversity Award event. The Advocacy Award recognized our efforts to significantly increase diversity spending and mentoring.
COMED CONSTRUCT
Aldridge proudly participates in ComEd’s CONSTRUCT Program, an eleven-week training program that provides minorities with information and guidance to help them compete for entry-level jobs in construction-related fields.
DC INFRASTRUCTURE ACADEMY
Aldridge continues to increase our presence in the DC Metro Area working on critical infrastructure projects. As part of our efforts to further connect with the community we work in, we have partnered with the DC Infrastructure Academy. Their goal is to facilitate high skill and high wage employment through a series of workforce development and industry preparatory training sessions, academic refresh seminars, and workforce preparation. Aldridge is excited to participate in this program along with Pepco and other area businesses. After completing the curriculum, graduates of the program receive job offers from Pepco or one of the contractors involved, such as Aldridge.
WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION
As a member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Aldridge is proud to support the Women in Construction movement. Beyond celebrating Women in Construction week in March, we want to help strengthen the success of women in the construction industry.
