dearborn subway renovations

The purpose of this project was to update three active Blue Line Subway Stations along North Milwaukee Ave (Grand, Chicago, Division) including replacement of both normal and reliable utility services at each station along with new service distribution equipment. Each station consists of three levels which are, street entrance, mezzanine, and platform. Crews completed an electrical system upgrade consisting of extensive planning and coordination while keeping all stations active and operational for public transportation throughout construction. Full platform (track level) lighting replacement was performed within two 54 hour weekend single track shutdowns utilizing Aldridge-designed rail borne equipment, multiple crews, and interdivisional support to successfully perform this work.
