O’hare Centralized Deicing - Illinois
Transportation | Airport | Illinois
Project Summary
Aldridge was responsible for the entire electrical scope on this highly sophisticated airside structure that houses eight console stations and one supervisor console designed to serve various airline personnel. The work was substantially completed on December 28, 2018 and was executed simultaneously with the CDF Paving and Utilities package of which Aldridge performed all of the airfield lighting for the entire facility.
The ramp tower is required for the airlines to control and monitor the movement of planes and the deicing operations being performed on the new Central Deicing Facility at O'Hare. The ramp tower is located on the west side of the Central Deicing Facility. Work included the site preparation, parking lot, ramp tower foundation, ramp tower building, utility infrastructure near the building and control equipment for lighting, message boards, cameras, and radio frequency antennas.
