Project Summary

Aldridge was the subcontractor chosen to lead the electrical construction of a new 3-level patient parking garage adjacent to one of the largest VA hospitals in the US, Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center. The project consisted of taking part of the current parking lot and reallocating it for the new structure as well as electrical upgrades.

Our scope included the installation of 5 new 7.2 kW pedestal-mounted electric vehicle charging stations, that were single heads with protective bollards. Aldridge procured and installed the electrical, security system, fire alarm, all ethernet in the building, high and medium voltage to power all new switchgears, and the new fiber network. We utilized our PreFab capabilities on all of the lighting features to speed installation as all fixtures were wired up, stems placed, and quality controlled prior to heading to site.

One unique hurdle was the installation of 4 light poles at the top of the garage after construction was complete. Due to site conditions, Aldridge utilized a customized gripper attachment instead of a crane to place these safely with minimal disruption.
