Wabash Avenue

As prime contractor, Aldridge installed ornamental historic street lighting on Wabash Avenue between Wacker and Harrison. The project also included the construction and installation of new street-level and vaulted sidewalks, landscaping, an irrigation system, and paintings of CTA structures.

The extremely confined construction zone created numerous challenges including overhead clearance of the CTA overpass, vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic. Aldridge provided access to all businesses during construction. The project had numerous plan re-designs and bulletins due to unknown existing conditions.
