Project Summary

This substation collects generated power from wind turbines. Aldridge was contracted to perform the electrical installation including all below-grade conduits and grounding, cable trenches, above-grade conduits, control cables, grounding, steel structures, dead-end towers, static poles, and aluminum bus work. The associated work included the installation of jumpers and H.V. connections including terminating 34.5KV feeder circuits from the turbine transformers and terminating all control cables in the field and control house along with installing all the electrical equipment less the 345KV MPT transformers.

The electrical equipment included: two 345KV SF6 gas circuit breakers, six 34.5Kv vacuum circuit breakers, two grounding transformers, 12 gang-operated switches, 36 hook disconnect switches, one station service transformer, one control house, six 34.5Kv voltage transformers, three 345Kv current voltage transformers, three 34.5Kv current transformers, nine 345Kv surge arrestors, twenty-seven 345Kv Insulators, and 120 34.5Kv Insulators.
