Project Summary
The FITS Project is part of the GoPort program sponsored by the Alameda County Transportation Commission (CTC) to improve transportation facilities at the Port of Oakland. Various individual improvements will be installed either above ground, below ground or via non-ground disturbing, systems-based technologies. Other elements of the FITS Project include the installation of underground fiber optic cables, conduits in trenches to nearby vaults, pull boxes in trenches to nearby vaults, existing power poles, and power cabinets. System upgrades were also performed by replacing equipment on existing poles or pedestals. Aldridge also self performed the installation of Changeable Message Signs (CMS) including the cast-in-drilled-hole pile foundations.
