Tollway Prefabrication at Work

As a prefabrication trailblazer, Aldridge continues to seek out unique opportunities to showcase and utilize our industry knowledge to provide tailored solutions for each and every project we take on. While the tollway association typically only engages specifically approved vendors for the fabrication of their IPDC (Intermediate Power Distribution and Communication) buildings, we were able to lean into our decades of experience to procure a contract that allowed Aldridge to provide these prefabricated buildings. The process included seeking engineering approval to allow our team to prefabricate these buildings. Showcasing our ability to produce this from the ground up gave us the opportunity to effectively manage the electrical installation. The result was a quality install with less time spent in a highway work zone, thus increasing the overall safety of the project and improving the final schedule.

As a longtime tollway partner, Aldridge has taken our innovative capabilities to the next level with the prefabrication of intermediate power and distribution communications facilities. Used to house roadway equipment, these buildings were built inside of our PreFab warehouse and set directly in the highway median. The end result? A higher-quality product completed with less line of fire potential for the safest installation.
