Construction Safety Week is an opportunity to rally together and reinforce our enduring commitment to safety. Once a year, we feel the solidarity of our one Aldridge team as we put first things first…learning, sharing, and getting better. We encourage you to be engaged and empowered to share during the week's conversations, demonstrations, and activities.
Throughout the week, Aldridge employees invited trade allies and customers to experience Safety Week, the Aldridge Way. Throughout the week, office staff and executives alike visit job sites to participate in meaningful conversations and interactive demonstrations. Some highlights included:
Backing & Spotting demonstrations - one example had our Vice President of Safety blindfolded as he was instructed to back up using communication and teamwork!
Equipment demonstrations that highlighted best practices based on work scopes specific to different working groups.
Emergency response training to ensure all individuals understand the steps to take should an emergency occur
On the east and west coast, our regional offices hosted signature events - inviting trade allies, infrastructure customers, and subcontractors to discuss WHY we work safe.
Steve Howe, a former tree faller, shared his story of survival after he suffered a life-altering event on the job at our Washington DC area event.
Aldridge executives and Safety personnel shared personal stories where our Kask safety helmet helped save a life at our Los Angeles event.
Aldridge continues to use Safety Week as a means to encourage the industry to make the shift from hard hats to helmets to prevent traumatic brain injuries. To learn more, check out this video that showcases a personal story where the safety helmet saved someone’s life.
We want to thank each one of you for participating in Safety Week this year! Because of your personal commitment to safety, we are all safer. By living these values at work and at home our job sites are safer. We hope this week energized your commitments to safety and further supported your empowerment to be Strong Voices on our projects.
