Transmission Line and Substation Enhancements - Michigan

Transmission | Substation | Michigan

Project Summary

Aldridge executed a contract to expand and enhance an existing substation in Southern Michigan, installing over nine miles of new 138kV power lines. The project scope also included an eight-mile rebuild of existing lines, twelve miles of demolition, and various substation upgrades to strengthen the local electric transmission system.

Aldridge employed prefabrication to streamline the construction process, reducing installation time and ensuring precise, high-quality results. Given the need for seamless integration with the existing transmission system, meticulous coordination of outage schedules has been essential to maintaining grid reliability and minimizing disruption.

Aldridge’s team coordinated closely with stakeholders to adjust schedules based on grid reliability, weather constraints, and site accessibility. This design-build project highlights Aldridge's commitment to improving essential infrastructure while upholding safety and quality. Through innovative techniques and careful project management, Aldridge continues to make a positive impact on the communities we serve.
