Airfield Lighting Vault - California
Airport | California
Project Summary
As the Prime Contractor, Aldridge worked directly with the Airport Authority to deliver a 21’ x 75’ masonry building vault housing sophisticated systems for airfield lighting power and controls. The project encompassed the construction of new building foundations, masonry work, HVAC systems, fire alarms, AOA fence and gate structures, as well as surrounding paving and curbs. Aldridge self-performed the electrical work, installing switchgear, power packs, regulators, a generator, load bank, UPS, CCTV, and ACAMS. Additionally, Aldridge managed the decommissioning of the existing vault. The project team effectively coordinated numerous subcontractors and crews, keeping the project on track through comprehensive and consistent planning efforts. Prefabrication was utilized to build the conduit racks off-site, enhancing both quality and safety. A detailed cut-over plan was developed in close collaboration with airport maintenance and operations personnel to ensure a seamless completion. The Airport Authority praised Aldridge’s project management team for their efficiency, responsiveness, and in-depth understanding of the scope of work.
