Here is a recap of our Class of 2020’s summer at Aldridge.
This summer, internships across the country were canceled due to the unique circumstances that arose from the pandemic. Not Aldridge. Our intern program is very near-and-dear to our hearts, so we adopted a “can't-hold-us-back” mindset and modified our traditional intern experience to include offerings such as virtual onboarding programs and job site tours. It was important to provide the experience of being an Aldridge employee while providing a safe and comfortable work environment in the office, on a job site, or from home.
Take a closer look at what three of our interns had to say about their summer!
Emily Winkler | Project Management | Bradley University
“There is no better way to learn about a project than going out to the job site. Talking to the field crews helped me gain a better understanding of the drawings and the work being done.”
Ryley Rathman | Project Management | Milwaukee School of Engineering
“This summer I learned the importance of team effort, asking questions, field experience, and quality over speed.”
Trisha Sale | Project Management | California State University
“It was abundantly clear through this experience that safety is always first at Aldridge. I learned how to use new programs such as Bluebeam and Procore and strengthened my Excel abilities. I also learned a lot about multitasking, the importance of deadlines, prioritizing, and a flexible work schedule.”
On Friday, August 6, 2020, the Class of 2020 Summer Interns presented a recap of their time at Aldridge. Their overall advice to future Aldridge interns was:
Safety First | Always Ask Questions | Communication is Crucial | Problem Solve
Aldridge has welcomed young professionals interested in the construction industry to join the Aldridge family each summer for nearly 30 years. We are excited to announce that several of our 2020 interns have accepted full-time positions, a tradition that continues year-over-year.
