Utility Training Trailers

These trailers, along with a full-time training manager, travel the country training and qualifying union electricians to do complex vault and utility work in enclosed spaces.  

Training Sessions:

• Network Protectors - live environment with 3-phase power (120/208) for hands-on-training of both short and long maintenance routines, including troubleshooting situations

• Network Secondaries - safe, live environment with 120/208-volt network that includes buss plates, Homac buss (crab joints), and the ring buss to train and qualify. 

• Cable Splicing Training - hands-on training with demonstrations of proper inspection and splicing techniques of low and high-voltage cables.

• Manhole Assessment - teaches the ability to identify elevated temperatures, cable abnormalities, structural deficiencies, and other details in an enclosed space.

• Manhole Rescue Trailer - a separate training trailer that simulates conditions during real-life rescues.

• Enclosed Space Training - demonstrates entrance safety by testing for stray voltage, air monitoring, use of an infrared camera to determine elevated temperatures.
